PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for decomposing ethers, in which ethers are decomposed by assimilation or co-oxidization to promote the decomposition and removal of leaked ethers. SOLUTION: The method for decomposing ethers comprises a step of decomposing ethers in the presence of a decomposition promoter by using a microbe capable of decomposing ethers under an aerobic condition.
