The present invention provides a torque control method of a tailstock, which performs a torque control of the tailstock only by simply selecting a button and inputting a setup value, thereby enhancing user convenience and simplifying a work. An embodiment provides the torque control method of the tailstock, included in a machine tool, which comprises the steps of: letting a user to select a forward or a backward button of the tailstock; determining whether an operation condition of the tailstock is satisfied after the forward or the backward button of the tailstock is selected; if the operation condition of the tailstock is satisfied, determining whether a torque value is input by the user; if the torque value is input, determining whether X axis and Z axis coordinate values of an approach position on which the torque control of the tailstock is to be performed and moving the tailstock to corresponding coordinates; and storing the setup torque value and the current X axis and Z axis coordinate values and performing the torque control after the tailstock is moved to the coordinates of the approach position. |
