PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce user's waiting time for restoration of an image forming apparatus to a started state and printing processing by the image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: An MFP 101 receives a printing job from a portable terminal 100, next acquires information on a distance between the portable terminal 100 and the MFP 101, and calculates a time required for the portable terminal 100 to arrive at the MFP 101 on the basis of the distance information. Next, the MFP 101 compares a time required to complete printing processing corresponding to the printing job after cancelling an energy saving mode with the time required for the portable terminal 100 to arrive at the MFP 101, and performs control to cancel the energy saving mode in accordance with a result of the comparison. |
