PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep transmission efficiency intact in reducing a quantization bit number of a digital RoF signal transmitted between a BBU and an RRU, by the use of predictive coding.SOLUTION: A communication system according to the present invention includes: an error prediction section 47 for generating an error signal of data to be transmitted, by the use of a prediction coefficient stored in a prediction coefficient storage section 46; an error signal transmission section for compressively transmitting the error signal through an optical transmission path; an expansion section 41 for expanding the error signal transmitted by the error signal transmission section; and a signal recovery section 42 for recovering the error signal expanded by the expansion section 41, by the use of a prediction coefficient stored in a prediction coefficient storage section 44. |
