A technique for crossectomy provides for the incision of the skin and subcutaneous fat starting at the distance of above the inguinal fold and in parallel medially from the common femoral artery in the case of the recurrent varicose of the subcutaneous veins due to non-adequate primary crossectomy. Upon dissecting the superficial epigastric vein, the tissues are incised until the proper femoral fascia. The latter is cut proximally to the upper edge of the sapheno-femoral junction outside the cicatrice. The common femoral vein is found out. The fascia is incised further to the ostium of the stump of the great saphenous vein being immobilized circularly subfascially and ligated twice with interval. The clamp is applied distally. The vein is crossed between the clamp and the ligatures, and fascial incision is sutured. Upon the arrest of blood reflux through the terminal valve, t he stump is removed with ligation of all its branches. |
