PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device which can cool the inside of a case sufficiently, and which cannot drop the temperature excessively in the area around an arc tube of a lamp light source. SOLUTION: A light source device is so constituted that a light source 7 is provided in a case 17, a light guide part 10 for guiding light from the light source 7 to optical fibers 8 is provided on the front face part 1b of the case 17, an exhaust port 11 is provided on the rear face part 1c of the case 17, cooling air is guided from an intake port 19 provided on the side face part 1d of the case 17 to the exhaust port 11 by driving a fan provided on the exhaust port 11, and thereby, the inside of the case 17 and the periphery of the light source 7 are cooled. In this case, a cooking air regulating plate 9 which is arranged so as to cross the back of the light source 7, and which can regulate the cooling air so as to maintain the temperature in the area around an arc tube of the light source 7 in the desired temperature is provided between the light source 7 and the fan 13. |
