<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optionally regulate the operating output of a gas generator and the timing of output rise and stabilize the combustion performance by regulating the rupture pressure for rupturing a shutoff means in a plurality of steps by two or more gas discharge ports and/or two or more shutoff means. SOLUTION: A gas generator comprises two kinds of gas discharge ports 26a, 26b differed in diameter on the circumferential wall of a diffuser shell 1, and the number of each discharge port is equally set. A seal tape 27 is affixed to the gas discharge ports 26a, 26b from the circumferential wall part inner pripheral surface of the diffuser shell 1 in order to protect gas generating agents 9a, 9b from the influence of the outside moisture of a housing 3. The seal tape 27 has a width enough to simultaneously block the two kinds of gas discharge ports 26a, 26b arranged in the axial direction of the gas generator. By such a combination of the gas discharge ports 26a, 26b with the seal tape 27, the pressure for rupturing the seal tape 27 can be regulated in two stages.</p> |
