PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shape imparting tool in which a curl-up thread is easily wound in a spiral shape around the circumferential surface of a cylindrical body and a thread insertion part is excellent in the strength and which is easily manufactured. SOLUTION: The shape imparting tool comprises the cylindrical body 2 provided with a fetching port 21 for an object to be inserted on one end part, to which the object to be inserted can be inserted from the fetching port 21, and the curl-up thread 3 to be wound around the cylindrical body 2. On the circumferential surface of the cylindrical body 2, a plurality of insertion hole parts 5 for inserting and guiding the curl-up thread 3 are provided at prescribed intervals respectively. The one end 31 of the curl-up thread 3 is fixed near the other end part 22 of the cylindrical body 2, and the curl-up thread is successively inserted and guided to the insertion hole parts 5 and wound in the spiral shape around the circumferential surface of the cylindrical body 2. Each of the insertion hole parts 5 is formed by joining both side edge parts 43 of a short piece 41 to the circumferential surface of the cylindrical body 2, the short piece 41 straddling the curl-up thread 3 which is interposed between the edge parts 43.
