A method for the surgical treatment of the postoperative and recurrent ventral hernia provides for tailoring the flap from the anterior layer of the sheath of the rectus muscle of abdomen and another flap from the opposite posterior layer of the sheath of the rectus muscle of abdomen followed by the reinforcement with prolen mesh and the restoration of the muscular-aponeurotic layer of the anterior abdominal wall over the mesh.
