摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for controlling a press, which apparatus can quickly perform a press work at a correct position even for an arbitrary control pattern, in other words, even when the working speed varies and stops. SOLUTION: A setting speed generator 30 of the apparatus for controlling the press generates a setting speed V<SB>L</SB>which becomes a basis for a working speed in a working range S<SB>1</SB>of a rotary member 24 and a basis for a non-working speed in a non-working range S<SB>10</SB>. A locus speed command means 32 receives the set speed V<SB>L</SB>as an input and outputs a locus speed command V(x<SP>*</SP>). An adding and subtracting device 37 receives the setting speed V<SB>L</SB>, the locus speed command V(x<SP>*</SP>), and a real tangential speed V<SB>ω</SB>as an input, and outputs a locus speed deviationΔV. A first integrator 38 receives the locus speed deviationΔV as an input, and outputs a positional deviationΔP<SB>1</SB>. A first position controller 39 receives the first positional deviationΔP<SB>1</SB>as an input, and outputs a basic angular velocityω<SB>0</SB><SP>*</SP>. A first subtracter 41 receives the basic angular velocityω<SB>0</SB><SP>*</SP>and a real angular velocityωas an input, and outputs an angular velocity deviationΔω.
