PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorber for an absorbent article having excellent compression recovery property of a thick part, easily taking viscous liquid into the thick part and having excellent holding property of the taken-in liquid. SOLUTION: The absorber 1 has a hydrophilic filament web 2 with a highly absorptive polymer 3 embedded and carried, wherein filament is curled, and the filament web 2 is oriented in a plane direction of the absorber 1.
