PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a line powder which does not require special equipment or a machine to draw a line, permits the use of a line marker, permits the drawing of a clear and vivid line, eases an erasing means and can be completely erased without leaving any trace, a line drawing method using the powder and a line erasing method. SOLUTION: The line powder is diatomaceous earth obtained by mixing with sodium carbonate of 1 to 5 pts.wt. and calcining. The earth can be made a colored powder by mixing with a pigment. A line drawing method of previously spraying an adhesive liquid on the ground and drawing a line on the liquid by the line powder and the line erasing method of previously spraying an adhesive liquid along a previously drawn line and drawing a line thereon by using a colored powder in the same color as the ground by utilizing the physical properties of the line powder including the difficulty of solidification when the powder encounters water, the capability to easily draw a line by a line marker and the ability to easily produce a desired hue are desirable ways of using the powder.
