ZOOM LENS AND OPTICAL EQUIPMENT HAVING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom lens having satisfactorily corrected various aberrations including a chromatic aberration, over the entire zoom area and having high optical performance, and to provide optical equipment having the same. SOLUTION: The zoom lens includes a first lens group of negative refractive power which is disposed closest to an object side relative to an aperture diaphragm, and at least one lens group of positive refractive power which is disposed on the image side relative to the aperture diaphragm, and the zoom lens performs zooming by varying an interval between the lens groups. The zoom lens has at least one optical element made of a material that has Abbe's number satisfying predetermined conditions and a partial dispersion ratio. The focal distance fNof the optical element, a distance Lt from the aperture diaphragm at the telephoto end to the optical element, the entire optical length Tt at the telephoto end, the focal distance fw and ft at the wide angle end and tele-photo end respectively, and so on are appropriately set.
