<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control precipitation of scales by suppressing the increase of hardness of electrolytic water in an air sterilization device bringing electrolytic water into contact with air. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The air sterilization device 1 comprises an electrolysis vessel 46 for generating the electrolytic water including active oxygen species by electolyzing water; a gas-liquid contact member 53 for bringing the electrolytic water into contact with air; a circulation pump 44 for feeding the electrolytic water generated in the electrolysis vessel 46 to the gas-liquid contact member 53 and circulating/feeding the electrolytic water passing through the gas-liquid contact member to the gas-liquid contact member 53; and a demineralizing module 90 for performing the process for reducing the hardness of the electrolytic water circulated/fed to the gas-liquid contact member 53.
