PURPOSE: A light emitting device is provided to set a reasonable relation between a light emitting area of a surface light source and an area of a light receiving surface of a lens. CONSTITUTION: A surface light source(12) includes a light output unit(18) and a light output unit holding member(20). A CPC(Compound Parabolic Concentrator) lens(14) includes a light receiving surface(22), a light reflecting side(24), and a light emitting surface(26). A central axis of the CPC lens is identical to an optical axis of the surface light source. A transparent cover(32) is mounted on an opening part(16a) of a reflector(16) to cover the opening part. A light outputting unit holding member(20) is mounted on a lower opening part(16b) of the reflector. |
