A wireless image communication system comprises a transmitter that wirelessly transmits image data and a receiver that receives the image data transmitted by the transmitter. The transmitter comprises: a communication channel change instruction unit that accepts, from an operator, an instruction to change a communication channel, which is currently used in the wireless communication with the receiver for the transmission of the image data, to a predetermined communication channel that is different from the currently used communication channel; and a transmitting unit that wirelessly transmits, on the basis of the instruction, information related to the predetermined communication channel to the receiver. The receiver comprises: a receiving unit that receives the information wirelessly transmitted by the transmitter; and a wireless communication control unit that performs a process to change the communication channel, which is currently used in the wireless communication with the transmitter, to the communication channel indicated by the received information. |
