PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color shading correction device and a correction method, capable of suppressing calculation time for obtaining a color shading correction shape, and reducing production process.SOLUTION: A shading correction device includes color shading shape determination means for determining a shape of color shading, and correction value calculation means for calculating a color shading correction value according to a determined result. The shape determination means determines that color shading have a uniform gradient color shading, if color signal strength Sc at an image center region and color signal strength S1 and S2 at image edge regions in a certain direction satisfy S1<Sc<S2 or S2<Sc<S1 and Sc is approximately equal to an average of S1 and S2, for more than two different kinds of color signals consisting a picture taken. If it is determined, the means makes the number of sampling points and order of color shading shape function, for calculating the correction value, smaller than the number of the sampling points and the order of the color shading shape function, for calculating the correction value when the shape determination means determines that the condition is not satisfied.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
