The invention relates to a device for measuring particulate matter, and effectively prevents short-circuiting between electrodes which would otherwise be caused by PM accumulation. The particulate matter measuring device includes a DPF (16) that has a plurality of cells plugged alternatingly at the upstream side and downstream side. The cells are compartmentalized by porous partition walls. At least one of the cells is defined as a measurement cell (4). The particulate matter measuring device also includes a pair of electrodes (A, B) inserted from the non-plugged side in a pair of cells (2, 3) that oppose each other sandwiching the measurement cell (4). The particulate matter measuring device also includes a PM accumulation amount calculating unit (21, 22) that calculates an amount of accumulated PM, which is collected in the DPF (16), on the basis of the capacitance between the electrodes (A, B). The electrodes (A, B) include conductive wire cores (A1, B1) that are covered with insulating layers (A2, B2). |
