Provided are a processing device and method for liquid infectious waste with which it is possible to achieve size reduction and simplification of the constitution of the device, reduce the occupied surface area or occupied space for installation, and efficiently process liquid infectious waste at a low cost. The processing device for liquid infectious waste is provided with: a liquid waste retention tank (3) that retains liquid infectious waste, which contains infectious microorganisms; a reaction tank (5) that sequentially brings the liquid waste supplied from the liquid waste retention tank (3) into contact with chemical liquids containing ozone gas and chlorine dioxide and inactivates the infectious microorganisms within the liquid waste; a liquid chemical retention tank (6) that stores a liquid chemical; an ozone gas generating source (7) that generates ozone gas; a liquid chemical transporting means (8) that supplies the liquid chemical that is retained to the reaction tank (5); a liquid waste circulation means (9) that circulates the liquid waste within the reaction tank (5); and a control means (10) that controls the amount of liquid chemical supplied and the amount of ozone gas supplied. |
