PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a glass tube, especially a quartz glass tube, the method for shaping a hollow cylinder into a glass tube having a large outer diameter and high dimensional accuracy in a single or a few shaping steps.SOLUTION: In a manufacturing method of a glass tube, (i) a step for preparing a hollow cylinder 2 includes a step where a position on a circumference of relatively thin wall thickness is determined along a longitudinal axis 6 of the hollow cylinder 2, and (ii) while the rotating hollow cylinder 2 is heated and softened by burner rings 15a, 15b, only when or mainly when the position on a circumference of relatively thin wall thickness passes a coolant source 18, a coolant is distributed on a deformation range from the coolant source 18, and disproportionation of the wall thickness is thus alleviated to suppress ununiformity of the wall thickness.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
