PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal medium capable of operating in a liquid crystal display which can operate at a temperature at which the medium is in blue phase, and having lowered operating voltage, temperature dependency with the lowered operating voltage, improved reliability, a temperature range in which the blue phase is widely and advantageously positioned, and a temperature range in which the liquid crystal medium is available and widely and advantageously positioned. SOLUTION: The mesogenic medium comprises one or more mesogenic compounds, one or more soluble liquid crystal polymers, and preferably, a soluble liquid crystal polymer expressed by the formula in the figure (wherein, MG is a bivalent mesogenic group; PU is a trivalent polymer unit formed from a group PG; PG is a polymerizable group or a reactive group; SG is a spacer group or a single bond; and X<SP>1</SP>is an end group).
