<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for controlling an information appliance based on gesture and giving multiple instructions via gesture with high gesture recognition accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: This system is provided with a gesture input device 7 moved toward a television set 1, a curtain apparatus 2, or luminaire 3 and 4, detectors 8 and 9 detecting interference fringes generated by light from the gesture input device 7, and a controller (PC) 5 controlling information appliances 1-4 based on output from the detectors 8 and 9. These information appliances 1-4 are connected to the PC 5 by radio/line and can be controlled according to information from the PC 5. The PC 5 computes motion of a center coordinate of the interference fringe detected by the detectors 8 and 9, recognizes the motion of the gesture input device 7 based on the motion of the center coordinate, and controls the corresponding information appliances 1-4 with control contents matching the motion. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
