PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reactor core characterization evaluation tool which considers parameters such as maximum burnup and fuel arrangement, and exactly evaluates the number of replacing fuel assemblies for a long cycle. SOLUTION: The core characterization evaluation tool has: a reactivity reduction calculating step of calculating in advance, the reactivity reductionΔρdue to neutron leakage in fuel assemblies arranged in positions Q, L, I (Q is the position where the top of a fuel assembly 1 faces the outside of the core, L is the position where the two sides of it face the outside of the core, and I is the position where one side of it faces the outside of the core), based on a power distribution calculation result objecting two- or more-dimensional model core; a step of forming initial conditions in the core to be an object of core characterization by assuming that the fuel assemblies arranged in the position is reduced in reactivity byΔρcalculated in the reactivity reduction calculating step; and a step of executing characterization objecting the core by inputting the formed initial conditions.
