PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaporator having evaporating sheets with high evaporating performance, and a condensing unit equipped with the evaporator. SOLUTION: A first evaporator 5 comprising a plurality of evaporating sheets 6 arranged in parallel at fixed spaces to allow an air current 4 to flow between them with the lower ends submerged in drain water, is provided with a slit group 8 lifting a part of the evaporating sheet 6 in parallel with a sheet face. The concentration boundary layer thickness of moisture in the air is thereby reduced by the front edge effect of the slit group 8 to provide the evaporator capable of improving a material transmission rate.
