PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a horizontal support which is made compact, by simplifying an installation structure of an upper structure. SOLUTION: The horizontal support device has a laminated rubber body 2 supporting a horizontal load of the upper structure 1, by causing shearing deformation in the horizontal direction, without supporting a vertical load of the upper structure 1. The laminated rubber body 2 is integrally molded by alternately laminating an intermediate steel plate 23 and a rubber layer 24 between an upper steel plate 21 and a lower steel plate 22. At least a pair of mutually separately opposed inverse L-shaped blocks 14 are projected on an upper surface of the upper steel plate 21. An upper shoe 13 fixed to an under surface of the upper structure 1 is engaged with the blocks 14 in a state of having a rail joint opening between the upper shoe and the upper steel plate 21.
