<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system for effectively limiting color printing. <P>SOLUTION: As for a print image with a water mark having color limit attributes showing printing in a monochrome printing mode (S390: YES or S410: YES), printing is carried out in a monochrome mode (S360). A print image whose color printing is not required is printed in the monochrome printing mode by adding the water mark having color limit attributes to the print image.
