The sensor (11) has sensor electronics that operate together with a sensor electrode (1) and a counter electrode (2). The electronics have a control circuit board including a control circuit. The sensor electrode has a curved surface contour and is arranged spatially at a distance from the circuit board. The sensor electrode has a contact element for electrical connection with the circuit board. The sensor electrode has a three dimensional surface element made of an electrically conductive material. The sensor electrode has area in the range of 1 square centimeter to 1 square meter.
