PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combustion apparatus capable of sensitively detecting change in a closing state of an air supply part and an air exhaust part during combustion, capable of outputting warning or quenching fire before incomplete combustion occurs or clogging of soot is generated in a heat exchanger even when part of the air supply part etc. is closed for a short time (e.g. approximately one hour or shorter) due to accumulation of snow or flying objects, having excellent safety and preventing ignition failure, explosion ignition or the like. SOLUTION: The combustion apparatus includes a fuel supply proportional valve 11 for adjusting fuel supply amount to a burner 14 in accordance with necessary combustion amount; a combustion fan 18 for supplying air necessary for combustion to the burner 14; a combustion state detecting part 17 for detecting the combustion state of the burner 14; a fan output value detecting means for detecting an output value to the combustion fan 18; and a combustion time determination means for making a determination based on the fan output value detected by the fan output value detecting means and the combustion output value detected by the combustion state detecting part 17 during combustion of the burner 14.
