PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of shortening the wait time for display of an initial operation screen after power-on, thereby preventing the reduction of work efficiency relating to a desired function. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 1 comprises: a storage part 220 where a plurality of object files for display collected per function are stored; a function selection switch 26 for selecting one function; an operation part 20 including a display part 22 on which an operation screen generated based on the object files is displayed; and a browser 270 which loads object files to a working area 230 from the storage part 220 and generates a display screen for the display part 22 on the basis of the object files loaded to the working area 230. The browser 270 is configured such that only object files corresponding to a specific function are loaded to generate the initial operation screen corresponding to this function.
