<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a core-shell structure type toner in which, when shell forming resin particles are added to a core particle dispersion liquid, the shell forming resin particles deposit uniformly on the core particle surface without causing homo aggregation, so that even shell formation is performed. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the method of producing the toner, when resin particles and a polyvalent metal salt are added to a core particle dispersion liquid containing at least a resin and a colorant to perform shell formation, after adding the resin particles, the polyvalent metal salt is added within 15-70% of the time required for a shell forming step.
