<p>A surgical access port is provided for insertion through an incision formed in a body wall of a patient. The surgical access port generally includes a sleeve assembly having a folding assembly provided at a proximal end of the sleeve assembly. The sleeve assembly includes a flexible sleeve and a flexible distal ring provided at a distal end of the flexible sleeve. A proximal end of the sleeve assembly includes a pocket formed in the sleeve material. The folding assembly is located in the pocket and generally includes a proximal ring and one or more ring knobs rotatably mounted on the proximal ring. Locking structure, in the form of a ratchet and pawl mechanism, may be provided to secure the ring knobs in position relative to the proximal ring.</p> |
