The present invention discloses an apparatus and a method for receiving a multi-mode digital radio and audio broadcast, capable of receiving a digital radio and audio signal of various standards from one receiving terminal, and decoding stream data encoded by various audio codec technologies according to the various standards. The apparatus for receiving the multi-mode digital radio and audio broadcast according to an aspect of the present invention includes: a multi-mode demodulation unit for receiving a digital radio broadcast RF signal, and demodulating the digital radio broadcast RF signal to output digital radio broadcast data; a main controller for analyzing a coded system of the digital radio broadcast data, and outputting a control command and an operation code to set a decoder of an audio codec for decoding the digital radio broadcast data by using the analyzed coded system; and a multi-mode audio decoding unit for setting the decoder of the audio codec corresponding to the coded system and decoding the digital radio broadcast data by using the set decoder of the audio codec, according to the control command and the operation code.
