The present invention relates to a method for estimating characteristics of a person based on an image in an apparatus which is connected to two or more cameras, and provides information on characteristic of a person in an image output apparatus. The method for estimating characteristics of a person based on an image comprises the steps of: obtaining two or more images from two or more cameras photographing the same position in each different direction; recognizing a person from one or more objects included in the images; extracting two or more feature elements on the recognized person, and firstly estimating characteristics of the person on each of the extracted feature elements; and secondly estimating characteristics of the person by combining the characteristics of the person firstly estimated for each of the feature elements.
