an object detector that detects an object around a subject vehicle; an index calculator that calculates an index relating to a traveling state of the subject vehicle, which is a value that is obtained by dividing a jerk of the subject vehicle by a deceleration, and comparing the index to past index statistics in a case where the object is detected by the object detector and then a response operation against the detected object by a driver of the traveling subject vehicle is detected; and determination unit configured to determine a driving situation of the driver of the subject vehicle based on a result of the comparison by the index calculator.
