PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle mounted with an internal combustion engine and an exhaust gas purification method for the same capable of curbing progress of: sulfur poisoning of an exhaust gas purification device due to insufficient sulfur purge control by obtaining updated fuel property in an area where a vehicle fuel supply point exists and optimizing execution time of the sulfur purge control for the exhaust gas purification device of the internal combustion engine; and degradation of fuel efficiency and heat deterioration of the exhaust purification device due to excessive sulfur purge control.SOLUTION: A vehicle mounted with an internal combustion engine: obtains a sulfur content from a fuel supply point after determining that a vehicle is fueled; and estimates the sulfur content of fuel inside a fuel tank of a vehicle from the obtained sulfur content. When calculating a new interval value from the estimated sulfur content, the vehicle mounted with the internal combustion engine obtains data on the sulfur content in a fuel supply area corresponding to the fuel supply point not from a database mounted on the vehicle but from the database installed outside the same.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
