A display device displays information through the use of a display member (4). In a display state, an opening (2x) formed in one surface of a casing (2) is opened, and the display member is positioned on the exterior of the opening. In a non-display state, the display member is accommodated in the casing, and the opening is closed by a plurality of covers (3a, 3b). The plurality of covers can move so as to vary the opened area of the opening, and each of the covers is smaller in area than the opening. A drive device switches between the display state and the non-display state by moving the plurality of covers. One cover (3a) of the plurality of covers is moved by the drive device, and another cover (3b) is moved by the first cover. |
