1. An acoustic ceiling panel comprising:
a first layer comprising a first major surface and a second major surface, the second major surface of the first layer defined by a perimeter, the second major surface of the first layer comprising a perimeter region adjacent the perimeter of the second major surface of the first layer and a central region circumscribed by the perimeter region of the second major surface of the first layer; a second layer comprising a first major surface and a second major surface, the first major surface of the second layer defined by a perimeter, the first major surface of the second layer comprising a perimeter region adjacent the perimeter of the first major surface of the second layer and a central region circumscribed by the perimeter region of the first major surface of the second layer; and wherein the second major surface of the first layer is coupled to the first major surface of the second layer and each of the central region of the second major surface of the first layer and the central region of the first major surface of the second layer being free of adhesive, whereby the first and second layers are coupled to each other to form a multilayer panel.
