PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply a proper quantity of heat to a recording medium to suppress the occurrence of failure in fixing.SOLUTION: There is provided a fixing device 20 comprising: a fixing belt 21 that rotates; a temperature sensor 28 that detects a temperature of the fixing belt 21; a pressure roller 22 that forms a nip part N with the fixing belt 21; a halogen heater 23 that heats the fixing belt 21; and heating control means 30 that controls the halogen heater 23, the fixing device conveying a recording medium P carrying an unfixed toner T to the nip part N to fix the toner image T to the recording medium P, wherein when the heating control means 30 determines that the lighting ratio of the halogen heater 23 is equal to or less than a predetermined value for a predetermined time period or more before the recording medium P reaches the nip part N, controls the heating means after the determination at a constant lighting ratio until the recording medium P reaches the nip part N.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
