PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily determining whether a person is infected with a metabolic syndrome even at home by using components in saliva.SOLUTION: This invention provides the following inventions: a marker for metabolic syndrome determination; and a metabolic syndrome risk determination method which measures the quantity of one kind or more components selected from a group composed of (i) ectoine, homovanillic acid, uracil and epinephrine, and (ii) riboflavin, lupinine, guanidinosuccinic acid, and uridine, in saliva collected from a subject, and determines whether the subject is infected with a metabolic syndrome on the basis of the quantity. |
