A system and a method for managing articles with an RFID transponder are provided to prevent the articles from being stolen by inserting the RFID transponder storing user information into the article and registering/managing the article with the RFID transponder. A transmitter(T2) is installed to the article of the user. The RFID transponder(80) includes an antenna for receiving an RF signal, a signal recognizer recognizing an ID signal from the received RF signal, and a display(84). The display displays a recognition state of the ID signal when an operation signal is received from the signal recognizer. A photoelectric device generates electricity by using light and supplies operational power to the transponder. Whether the article including the transponder is found in coverage of the transmitter, the article is managed by a output signal through the display. |
