A mobile communication terminal and a controlling method thereof are provided to block grounding connection when an SAR(Specific Absorption Rate) is not concerned even though the terminal is used or when the terminal is closed, thereby improving radio performance as reducing an SAR numerical value by conducting the grounding connection only when the SAR is concerned. The first body(100) is embedded with a substrate(111) where predetermined components for radio communication are mounted. The second body(200) has a display unit(112) for outputting predetermined information as images in connection with one side of the first body. A grounding body(120) of predetermined size is ground-connected with at least one of the substrate and the display unit. Ground controllers(311,312) enable grounding connection between the ground body and the at least one of the substrate and the display unit to be selectively performed. A controller(300) enables the grounding connection if high-power radiation occurs, and blocks the grounding connection if the high-power radiation does not occur.
