The objective has a feed device (6) for feeding immersion medium e.g. immersion liquid (7), into a region between an object and an outer lens (3) of the objective. The feed device has a cover (8) enclosing an objective body (4), where the cover is open in an area of the outer lens and forms a gap (9) e.g. annular gap, towards the outer lens. A space for receiving immersion liquid is formed inside the cover, where the immersion liquid exits via the gap. The feed device has a connection formed in the cover for the continuous supply with the immersion liquid. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for forming an immersion film from immersion liquid between a lens and an object carrier (2) a device for forming an immersion film from immersion liquid between a lens and an object carrier.
