<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an embedded mechanism for platform vulnerability assessment in the field of computer security. <P>SOLUTION: Vulnerability scanning is performed in an execution container on a management platform of a network. Thus, vulnerability scanning can be performed on the platform locally without using external network executed on a host operating system which can be an object for attack or an agent. According to one embodiment, a stand alone host carries out vulnerability scanning using an incorporated hardware management engine (ME) in the management platform, and in a second embodiment, a management section of the management platform carries out vulnerability scanning of a virtual machine. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
