PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic porous body and a ceramic filter having suppressed pressure loss to prevent the deterioration of fuel economy, capable of efficiently collecting particulate matter (PM) containing ultrafine particulate and reducing the quantity of a noble metal catalyst and having excellent corrosion resistance. SOLUTION: The ceramic porous body having columnar particles formed on the surface of the porous body and the inner wall surface of pore parts and having controlled pore diameter, peculiar pore arrangement, uniform pore diameter and high porosity, a method of manufacturing the same, a support catalyst of a waste gas cleaning catalyst and a ceramic filter member having excellent corrosion resistance which comprise the ceramic porous body manufactured by the method are provided. As a result, the ceramic filter or the like capable of efficiently collecting PM, having small pressure loss, hardly causing the deterioration of the fuel economy, capable of reducing the use quantity of the noble metal catalyst and having excellent corrosion resistance is provided.
