PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein a difference is caused in pushing force of each of press rollers for pushing a conveying roller in the sheet cross direction and, as a result, biased feeding of the conveyed sheet is caused. SOLUTION: This paper sheet conveying device 2 comprises a second conveying roller 42, a third press roller shaft 133, a press roller 33 supported by the third press roller shaft 133 and nearly brought in contact with the second conveying roller 42, a main body frame 7 supporting the second conveying roller 42 and the press roller shaft 133 in the state of positioning them, plate springs 51 and 51 for pushing the press roller shaft 133 so as to push the third press roller 33 toward the second conveying roller 42 side, a support member 52 supporting the pushing members 51 and 51, an operation shaft member 53 arranged in a position projecting outside of a casing 8 and supported freely to turn relative to the main body frame 7, and a motion converting mechanism (a pinion 54 and a rack portion52a) for converting rotation of the operation shaft member 53 to the linear motion of the support member 52 in the axial direction of the press roller shaft 133.
