<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode member that can make use of the characteristics of oxide titanium in which a catalyst can be chemically fixed for a long period, has a large specific surface area, and is superior in conductivity. <P>SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing an electrode member includes: an alkali-acid treatment step of immersing a substrate of titanium or titanium alloy in an alkaline solution and then in an acid solution to form a hydrated surface layer having a comb-like structure on a surface of the substrate; a dewatering step of heating the substrate that has been subjected to the alkali-acid treatment to remove water from the surface layer; and a conduction step of treating the surface layer under a nitrogen gas atmosphere. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
