PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a section insulator for an electric train line capable of preventing raindrops from being attached upon raining and reducing degradation of electric insulating performance.SOLUTION: In the section insulator 1, the insulating member 2 configured with a rod-like square timber made of FRP holds adjacent ends of two adjacent trolley wires T1 and T2 while electrically insulating them. A pair of flat fall-inducing slopes 7c, 7c inclining downward from a top of a widthwise center to both sides 7b, 7b are formed on an upper part of the insulating member 2. Raindrops falling on the fall-inducing slopes 7c, 7c of the insulating member 2 fall down along the fall-inducing slopes 7c and hardly stay on the insulating member 2 as a mass of water drops. Therefore, leakage current caused by water drops on the insulating member 2 is reduced, and the insulating performance is prevented from degrading. |
