PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably provide a rail having high hardness in a pearlitic steel rail.SOLUTION: Provided is a pearlitic steel rail having a composition containing, by mass, 0.70 to 1.20% C, 0.10 to 2.00% S, 0.10 to 2.00% Mn and above 0.50 to below 2.00% Nb, in which the content of P is limited to 0.025% or lower and the content of S is limited to 0.025% or lower, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities, in which 95% or higher of the head surface part in the range to a depth of 25 mm with the head tip part of the rail and the surface of the head corner part as starting points being a pearlitic structure, and the value of the hardness H of the range being within the range of the formula (1): 235×C[mass%]+190≤H[Hv]≤235×C[mass%]+290(1).SELECTED DRAWING: None |
