Fixing device, especially for electrophotographic printer

The fixing device has a flash lamp tube (11). A see-through window (13) is arranged in a position opposite the lamp tube (11). A recording medium to which toner is applied runs through the window on the side furthest from the lamp tube (11). A trigger electrode is arranged on a periphery of the flash lamp tube (11) and extends along a longitudinal direction. Several trigger electrodes (14a,b,c) are arranged in a circumferential direction. Preferably, the device has a reference trigger electrode (14a) which is arranged in a position next to the window. It preferably also has several auxiliary trigger electrodes arranged symmetric to each other in a circumferential direction of the lamp tube such that the reference electrode forms the centre.
