PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent erroneous supply or non-supply of ink by providing a unit for supplying ink to an ink reservoir with an ink empty sensor and providing a sensor for detecting the ink supply starting position at a part of an ink jet section. SOLUTION: When ink is supplied, a reservoir 21A moves to the right and the claw 23A of the reservoir 21A engages with the lever 24A of an ink supply unit 20A to incline the lever 24A abound a fulcrum 34A. Consequently, a solid ink 36A in a recess 33A turns to the left and when the rotational angle thereof reaches 10-20 deg., an actuator 35A is released from the solid ink 36A and an ink empty sensor 32A detects 'ink empty'. The solid ink 36A finally drops into the reservoir 21A and ink is supplied. Position of the reservoir 21A is detected by means of a position sensor at that time. |
